Sex trafficking has taken root in the heart of Melilla, Spain. The new Project Rescue Safe House will provide a place for exploited women and children to find hope and restoration.

DESCRIPTION:

The small, ancient Spanish city of Melilla is uniquely located on the continent of Africa. Situated along the Strait of Gibraltar, bordering Morocco, this area is a hot spot for sex trafficking. The property purchased for the Project Rescue Safe House is in a prime location in a highly secure area of Melilla. The new, multi-story safe house will be just over 3,000 square feet, where the intervention team can rescue and restore victims of sexual slavery.

BENEFITS:

If a woman wants to escape her trafficking circumstances in Melilla, she must denounce her traffickers to the police. After doing so, she has to return to her place of trafficking while she waits, which is far too risky, so most do not go through with it and stay trapped in exploitation. Once the new Project Rescue Safe House is built, victims can go straight to the safe house in Melilla after denouncing their trafficker.

The new Project Rescue Safe House will provide a place for exploited women and children to escape the horrors they are trapped in and find hope, healing, and restoration through the love and power of God.
