Bonaire is a beautiful tourist Island in the Caribbean that is great for tourist but a place of quiet despair for youth from 18 to 25 years old. If a youth graduates from High School and does not leave the island to get an education or a vocational skill, there are bleak years of unemployment or underemployment waiting for them. The youth who stay have a higher than normal rate of suicide, drug use and/or pregnancies. The youth center is dedicated to build relationship skills, adult mentoring to provide an alternative to the drug scene. The first floor needs one or two teams to be able to open it up to use. The eventual goal is a two story center with a variety of functions but the urgent need is to get the first floor open and operational.
